Chester hosts Sparta in final match at Chester Country Club
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Yellow Jacket golf team showed some frustration at Chester Country†Club last Tuesday losing to Sparta 171-205. After a season low team score of 193 the previous week at home, the Labor Day weekend seemed to take its toll on the Jackets. However, the Jackets did beat their team score of last season by 5 strokes.
Brett Barthol, who finished last year at a 54, led the Jackets with a solid 39 for the day,†parring six of nine. Barthol drove a dead center drive off the first tee to lay up a sand wedge within ten feet. Unfortunately, he missed his first but by just an inch, and then put in the second for par. Sam Higgerson shot a second 50 round in a row, with one par and five bogeys and has been growing stronger in the mental area of the game. Richelman also had one par and three bogeys, but trouble on hole #4 put him at 51 for the round.
Tommy Pfeiffer and Robert Gonzalez left the round seeing a number of moments in their minds that kept them back. Generally, developing consistency over such a short golf season is very difficult to do. Today was just one of those days to take some lessons from and move on.
