Jackson County Sheriff's Report
On Thursday, September 10, 2009, at approximately 9:27 p.m., the Jackson County Sheriff's Office investigated a crash which occurred on N Jungle Rd. near Salad Rd in Murphysboro. Lecia J. Hale, 18-year-old female from Murphysboro, was driving her 2002 Pontiac Grand AM north on N Jungle Rd. when she failed to negotiate a curve in the road. Her vehicle left the roadway, went up an embankment and overturned landing on its roof. Hale and three passengers in her car were wearing their seatbelts and were not injured in the crash. The vehicle was heavily damaged and is considered a total loss. No citations were issued.
On September 11, 2009, Jackson County Deputies attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle near Club Coyote on U.S. Highway 51 in rural DeSoto. The vehicle failed to yield to the deputy's lights and increased its speed in an attempt to elude. Speeds reached approximately 80 miles per hour and the vehicle was stopped on Fox Road, approximately one-half mile east of Kunce Road. The driver was identified as Andrew L. Kipp of Carbondale. Kipp was arrested and transported to the Jackson County Jail. Kipp has been charged with an initial violation of No Rear Registration Light as well as Reckless Driving and Aggravated Fleeing to Elude a Peace Officer. Kipp is currently incarcerated with bond to be set.

On Thursday, September 3, 2009, at approximately 8 a.m., members of the Perry County Drug Task Force, Illinois State Police and Drug Enforcement Agency executed a search warrant at the Michael McIntosh residence located at 1270 School St., Willisville, IL.
The search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation of a cannabis grow by suspect Michael McIntosh (60) of Willisville.
As a result of the investigation/search warrant, 18 cannabis plants were founded and pulled by law enforcement officers. Other items such as magazines regarding cannabis were also located along with 31 firearms and countless ammunition. All items were taken into evidence and secured.
In August of 2002 McIntosh was charged by the same law enforcement agencies for production of cannabis and later pled guilty to the charges.
McIntosh was not arrested at the scene but formal charges are expected to be filed this week against McIntosh for Production of Cannabis and Possession of Firearms by a Felon.

On 09-12-09 Derrick Evan Livingston, 17, of Tamaroa, IL, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis. He was released by posting bond of $75.00 cash.
Accident
On 09-09-09 Wallace D. Hagler, 48, of Murphysboro, IL, was involved in an accident involving a deer. Hagler was traveling north on Highway 13/127 and struck a deer in the roadway.
On 09-14-09 James G. Coleman, 23, of Carbondale, IL, was involved in an accident involving a deer. Coleman was traveling northbound on Highway 13/127 adjacent to Greensmarket Rd. when he struck a deer in the roadway causing damage to the front end of the vehicle. No injuries were reported.
