Panthers 0-3 After Another Tough Loss

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Pinckneyville came up one score short yet again, dropping to 0-3 after a 14-7 loss to Benton at Tabor Field last night.

The Panthers dug themselves into a hole yet again, this time falling behind 14-0 at the half before fighting back in the third period.

Bryant Shute, who had fumbled the ball to Benton before the Rangers fumbled it right back a play later, connected with Nathan Morton for a 13-yard touchdown pass with 5:08 left in the third. Caleb Howard's extra point made it 14-7.

The Panthers would have two cracks at it in the fourth quarter, but went three-and-out on their first series. Shute was then intercepted with 2:30 left in the game, and the Rangers were able to run out the clock.
