Legion to Hold Food Drive

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Du Quoin American Legion Post will hold a food drive Sept. 17 to help support the Du Quoin Food Pantry.

Donations may be dropped off on the west side of the American Legion Building, located at 900 S. Jefferson St.

The Pantry needs box dinners (Hamburger Helper), soups (except tomato), peanut butter, jelly and cereal. All donations are happily accepted.

Anyone who would prefer to make a monetary donation may do so. Checks should be made payable to the Du Quoin Food Pantry. Donations are tax deductible. The Pantry served 806 people in 338 households in July and 766 people in 301 households in August. There were 29 new households in both July and August.

The Du Quoin Food Pantry now has a page on Facebook. Search for Du Quoin Food Pantry and sign up as a fan to keep track of activities and food items that are needed for donations.
