Chester City Council approves electrical upgrade for Cohen Complex

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Chester City Council met Monday night and approved the electrical upgrade for Cohen Complex ball diamonds up to $2,500. The ball diamonds currently use 400 amp service and the council approved it up to 600 amp service for future needs.

The only bidder, Red Dot Construction, Inc, was approved for the pavement patching work on Swanwick Street. Red Dot's bid was $34,560.

The council approved Illini Asphalt of Benton, IL for oil & chip in the amount of $22,225.

Walden Associated Technologies proposal was approved by the council for sewer cleaning and video inspection of sewer mains in specific locations up to $20,000.

The Resolution for Transportation Service Agreement between CenterPoint Energy-Mississippi River Transmission Corporation and the City of Chester was tabled until a further meeting.

In other council news:

Dawn Frazer was appointed to the Chester Park & Recreation Board.

Richard Mueller was granted permission to plant a Fall 2009 crop.

The council discussed and tabled the firefighter pay increase.

The next regular scheduled city council meeting is Monday, August 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Chester City Hall.
