Pinckneyville Advances in Losers Round

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Pinckneyville (Post #2504) put together one of its best efforts of the Senior American Legion Baseball season Tuesday night, and it couldn't have come at a better time.

The local squad ripped Steeleville (Post # 480) in an elimination game at the 25th District Tournament at Harmsen Field.

Now 8-14 overall, Pinckneyville is slated to play Sparta (Post #396) at 8 p.m. Wednesday in another elimination game-weather permitting.

Sparta ousted Carbondale (Post #514) 12-9 to win Tuesday's first game.

At 5 o'clock Wednesday, a trip to the championship game is on the line as #1 seed Murphysboro (Post #127) squares off with Marion (Post #147) at 5 p.m.
