Local organizations receive Head Start grants

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that two Southern Illinois organizations have been awarded Head Start grants from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Western Egyptian Economic Opportunity Council, Steeleville - $156,242

The H Group, West Frankfort - $57,734.

"This funding will help prepare our children to learn," Costello said. "Early education is a key to future success in school and a great investment. I will continue to work to provide sound learning environments for all students."
