Groundbreaking ceremony for Chester Welcome Center

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[There will be a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Chester Welcome Center on Friday, May 1, at 11:00 a.m. at Segar Memorial Park at the Chester Bridge.

Mayor Marty Bert will welcome guests, and Senator Dave Luechtefeld and Representative Dan Reitz will also be in attendance to give comments.

Other guests in attendance will be local officials, Lake Contracting, Inc. of Addieville, IL, Project engineer - Thouvenot, Wade & Moerchen, Inc. of Waterloo, IL, and Project architect - Quadrant Design of Waterloo, IL.

The City of Chester received an Illinois Transportation Enhancement Project (ITEP) Grant, 80% federal share, 20% local match. The grant was applied for 7/05, awarded 6/06. Work should begin soon on the project.

Light refreshments will be offered following the groundbreaking (weather permitting)

The Public is invited to attend.
