Counterfeit $100 Bill Passed in Du Quoin

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Officer Dale Swallers of the Du Quoin Police Department constantly stands vigil over financial consumer issues in the Du Quoin area and today issued a warning to businesses about the passing of counterfeit currency during recessionary times.

He said that a counterfeit $100 bill was passed in a Du Quoin bar over the weekend and was found as it was deposited and began passing through the local banking system.

There are accepted practices for identifying counterfeit currency and you can contact Swallers at the Du Quoin Police Department if your business needs training on how to spot counterfeit currency.

"Bars are dark anyway," said Officer Swallers which made this rather amateurish copy a little easier to pass. You can call the department at 542-2131 for more information.
