ELVERADO BASEBALL: Fighting Falcons End Losing Streak

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ A nine-game losing skid stopped-and in a big way-for Elverado High School's Baseball team Monday afternoon.

The Fighting Falcons, 4-15, blasted Trinity Christian School of Carbondale 12-1 in six innings at the Dowell Village Park.

Freshman Wade Bowlin went 3-for-4 at the plate with two doubles and a triple to pace Elverado, which scored four times in the opening inning and never looked back.

Bryce Mathis, Landry Arnett, Troy Stewart, Cavins and Miller all enjoyed two-hit games for Elverado, which ended things early scorin seven times in the final two innings.

Troy Stewart (1-4) gained the pitching win, giving just two hits.

Elverado was rained out of a home game with Carmi-White County Tuesday and welcomes Crab Orchard to Miners Field Wednesday.
