DHS GIRLS TRACK: Lady Indian Thinclads Open at Benton

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Du Quoin High School's Girls Track and Field team officially started the 2009 season with Benton's Spring Fling last Saturday.

No team scores were kept, but the Lady Indians did place in five different events-all relays.

"It was our first full meet of the year," Du Quoin assistant coach Shawn File said. "The girls ran well and competed hard."

Du Quoin's best finish came in the "Weightwoman 4x100 meter relay" as Staci Davis, Braelee Osborn, Dominque Johnson and Trinee Pham combined to place third.

Weightwoman 4x100 Relay - 3rd, 70.0 (Staci Davis, Braelee Osborn, Dominique Johnson, Trinee Pham)

The next meet will be Monday's Sesser-Valier Invitational.

A trip to Herrin for a four-team meet Tuesday was called due to cold weather.
