Percy Village to install new lights
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Percy Village Board discussed installing three new streetlights in the upcoming months. The board voted in favor of the installation project. The proposed streetlights will be floodlights to help light up the streets. Two will be placed on South Second Street. The third light will be placed near Lollies. The floodlights cost $14.00 a month to operate, which is standard operational costs for flood-like streetlights.
The Percy Fire Department will be sponsoring a circus on April 15. Starting this week, the department will be having weekly meetings to plan this upcoming event. There is a hesitant plan to have a spaghetti dinner to raise money for the circus. The hesitant date is May 17.
The Board is anxiously awaiting any news about the proposed economic stimulus package that was signed Tuesday. The Board is poised and ready to take advantage of any money that will come Percy's way.
The Cemetery Board reported that they will have the grass cut for $375. They need to sign the agreement and show proof of insurance. They are also attempting to conduct a land survey of the cemetery. The Board is trying to cooperate with adjacent land owners to complete the survey.
The next Percy Village Board meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 11, at 6:00 p.m.
