Chester football kicks off summer with combine

Chester High School football began its 2017 summer workouts on Monday with its skills combine.

Roughly 45 players across all classes participated in the event, with measurements being taken in the 20-yard shuttle run, broad jump, 40-yard dash, squat, bench and vertical jump. Players also filled out a question-and-answer section that would establish their goals for the year.

"It kinda shows us where we're kinda at speed-wise and is a good judgement of what we need to work on this summer," said first-year Chester head coach Billy Belton. "What we need to build our weight room program around."
