Lady Yellow Jackets excel at Marion Invite
The Chester High School girl's track and field team opened the indoor track and field season on February 24 at the Marion Girls Invitational.
The Lady Yellow Jackets fared very well in their 2017 debut, bringing home two winning efforts, a runner-up finish, three third-place finishes as well as several other notable performances.       
"Today was a great start to the 2017 track season," said CHS head coach Jennifer Stumpe. "Girls showed up and competed and gave 110 percent in each of their events.
"I am excited about the rest of the indoor season and especially the upcoming outdoor spring season."
Other competing schools included Mt. Vernon, Carbondale, Du Quoin, Murphysboro, Salem, Marion, Centralia, Dupo, Benton, Herrin, Fairfield, Harrisburg, and Carterville.
