VOLLEYBALL: H-Co hands Lady Falcons second straight defeat
ELKVILLE, IL - Hamilton County visited Elverado on Monday and handed the Lady Falcons their second straight loss, a decisive 25-13, 25-7 win for the Lady Foxes.
"We have got to stay positive, especially this week," said EHS head volleyball coach Donette Wheatley. "We kept them on the defensive in spurts, but we have got to stay ready from the minute we walk in between the lines until the last whistle blows."
"We tend to relax a bit when the ball is on the other side and not cover our spots."
Elverado had just 4 kills in the game - two from Erika Will and one each from Jenny Sarensen and Cheyenne Abbadusky.
Rebecca Korando led EHS in digs with 5, Will added 3 and also had a pair of blocks. Katy Abbadusky had the Lady Falcons' only two assists against Hamilton County.
The J-V game was much closer, but the Lady Foxes still came away with the win 25-17, 25-15.
Ellie Winthrop led Elverado with 3 kills, Hailey Falter had 2. Winthrop, Kaitlin Lively and Kaydee Dinkins each had 3 digs.
The Lady Falcons (4-2, 4-0) are on the road the next three nights starting with Agape on Tuesday. EHS travels to Goreville on Wednesday and to Eldorado on Thursday.
