Gregory L. Brown of Makanda

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gregory L. Brown on May 27, 2026, at the age of 78.

He was born on Jan. 3, 1948, in Rochester, N.Y., to Wilmer and Beulah (Lingley) Brown. He later relocated to southern Illinois and was a proud member of the Makanda community.

He was a longtime employee of the Carbondale Times, where he worked as a delivery driver.

Ministry of comfort was entrusted to Southern Cremationa and Burial Services of Murphysboro.
