Du Quoin Middle School promotes 92 members of the Class of 2013
Ninety-two Du Quoin Middle School eighth grade students received diplomas during the promotional ceremony held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds.
The evening opened with the processional by Hannah Hamburger with a welcome by student council president Austin Harris and performances by the eighth grade band under the direction of Emily Plumlee. Band members are Sydney Gillam, Emily Born, Lindsey Feltmeyer, Nick King, Jennifer Lambert, Elizabeth Fronek, Carson Bookstaver, Andrew Derby, Logan Stanley and John Monroe.
Principal Aaron Hill and Dean of Students Jeremy Cornett presented special honors and awards followed by the presentation of diplomas.
Madison Dennis delivered the class farewell. The evening ended with the recessional.

The 8th grade parents committee then hosted an after-ceremony party at the Du Quoin Youth Club.
