Kory E. Cook
Kory E. Cook, 20, of Browning, Ill., formerly of Du Quoin, passed away at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at his residence.
He was born on Jan. 30, 1995 in Carbondale, Ill. He was the son of Kevin E. and Debra Swayne Cook.
Surviving are his parents of Browning, Ill.; his sister, Jennifer Najmabadi and husband Nathan of Dallas, Tex.; four aunts, Patricia Galloway and husband Clint of West Frankfort, Ill., Rev. Pamela King of Murphysboro, Ill., Deanna Boyd andhusband Michael of Du Quoin, Ill., Debra Waller of Du Quoin, Ill., two uncles; Michael Joe King of Du Quoin, Ill., Richard Swayne of Janesville, Wis. and many cousins.
Kory was preceded in death by his grandparents; Charles and Audrey Cook, George and Naomi Ruth Swayne.
He graduated from Schuyler-Industry High School in 2013. He had been an active member of Boy Scout Troop #35 in Rushville. He was baptized by his aunt, Rev. Pamela King in the Illinois River when he was 15 years old. Kory was previously a student at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Kory had many enjoyments including fishing, mudding, hiking and spending time on the water. He especially loved history and was a great joy to his friends and family.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Worthington Funeral Home with Mr. David Haney officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of services on Sunday. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
