The Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois Tri-County Program Committee hosting coloring contest during April
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois Tri-County Program Committee is hosting a coloring contest for children ages Pre-K through 3rd Grade in Randolph County during April, 2012.
The theme of the contest is "Hands are for helping." A first, second, and third place winner will be selected from each grade. All entries will be displayed around the area. All entries are due April 19, 2012 and may be turned in to the student's school office, or the ROE Office. Registration forms may be picked up at City Hall in Chester, SWIC in Red Bud, the Sparta and Chester Libraries, the Health Department in Chester, and the ROE Office in Chester.

In addition, the Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois Tri-County Program Committee is accepting donations from the community in recognition of Child Abuse Awareness Month in April.
Suggested donated items include McDonalds' Gift Certificates, juice boxes, Goldfish Crackers, fruit cups, packaged cookies, packaged Cheez Its, children's shampoo and detangler, Wii games, basketballs, footballs, baseballs, diapers of varying sizes, Wet Wipes, and coloring books. The drop off sites for these donations include Western Egyptian Food Pantry in Sparta, SWIC in Red Bud, Peace Lutheran Food Pantry in Steeleville, and City Hall in Chester.
