</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[It will be another busy summer at the Chester Public Library. "The staff and I look forward to another fun filled summer!" said Tammy Grah, Administrative Librarian. "We have a lot of exciting events planned. Miss Lisa and I would like to thank the Friends of the Library for their support of the programs, the Chester Women's Club for providing refreshments for our Story Hours, and Chief Lochhead and the Chester Fire Department for their participation. Our summer programs are successful because we receive wonderful support from the entire community."

Thursday is MOVIE DAY! Every Thursday, June 4 - August 13, at 1:00 p.m., the Chester Public Library staff will present a movie on the big screen in the Community Room. Participants should bring a soft drink with a lid. Popcorn will be provided. Children are also encouraged to bring pillows or blankets to sit/lay on the floor. All ages are welcome at these events; however young children must be supervised by a responsible adult or babysitter. The movies are rated G or PG, and specific titles will be posted at the Library.
The Summer Finale will be held this year on Tuesday, August 25 at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to enjoy this fun filled program presented by Chris McBrien, the Magic Storyteller.
Families who have Chester Public Library borrowing cards are encouraged to register for "SUMMER READ 2009". There will be special incentives and awards for children who read this summer.
Year round events will continue throughout the summer. Storytimes with Miss Lisa are held on the last Saturday of every month, Chapters (for boys and girls who enjoy reading chapter books) is the first Saturday of the month with the exception of July 4th, and the book discussion group for adults meets the first Tuesday of every other month.
