Christian entertainer Mark Lowry in Marion for one night only
Award-winning entertainer<span class="x_gmail-apple-converted-space"> </span><span class="x_gmail-il">Mark Lowry</span><span class="x_gmail-apple-converted-space"> </span>will bring a night or music, comedy and ministry to the <span class="x_gmail-il">Marion</span> Cultural and Civic Center on Aug. 16.
Lowry, a singer, songwriter, author and humorist Mark Lowry is best known for penning the lyric to the Christmas classic "Mary, Did You Know?" and singing baritone for more than 20 years with the Gaither Vocal Band. His life's work features a large catalog of diverse projects, including videos, books, and CDs.
His latest release is "What's Not to Love?" from his Daywind Records project. Anchored by songs co-written by Lowry, Reba Rambo-McGuire and Dony McGuire, "What's Not to Love?" embodies the messages of grace, compassion and the love of Christ featured at Lowry's live events.
"These songs that I've been writing with my friends ... are saying the things that I've been saying in my shows for years, but condenses it into a 3-minute nugget," Lowry said.
The songs "Love Is the Golden Rule" and "No Room for Hate" carry messages of love and extending grace; "Feels Like I'm Already There" reaches those going through a valley; while "Mama Prayed" resonates with those who had a praying mother of their own.
Tickets for the Marion event are $20-$30 or $45 for a VIP experience that includes meeting with Lowry before the 7 p.m. concert.

The song, "Mary Did You Know?" which he co-wrote with Buddy Greene, has been recorded more than 400 times by artists from every genre.
