Shannon Wallace Sentenced to Three Years in Perez Beating Case
Shannon Wallace, 28, of Tamaroa, has pleaded guilty to reckless conduct and sentenced to three years in prison. The deal came with the recommendation that he be sent to a boot camp.
As part of a plea deal, a charge of aggravated battery was dropped.
Wallace and his co-worker Jorge Perez had a workplace confrontation in April that left Perez with major brain injuries. The two men worked at Kellerman's Powder Coating. During the confrontation, Wallace put Perez in a choke-hold then dropped him on the floor, causing a head injury.
Wallace will be incarcerated in Menard prison in Chester where he must wait to see if he is accepted into boot camp program.
Wallace also pleaded guilty in August to a reckless driving charge in another case. In that instance, he was accused of trying to run a car off the road. He was sentenced to time served.
