Norma M. Franklin

Norma M. Franklin, 89, of Du Quoin, passed away at 2:40 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at the Fair View Nursing Center in Du Quoin.

Norma was a retired sewing factory seamstress, She was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Du Quoin and was a band member for several years at the church.

She was born June 21, 1923 at Murphysboro, Ill. the daughter of Ogle and Ethel Mae (Tyler) Franklin.

She is survived by three sisters- Fern Hamburger, Fay Franklin and Kathleen Owens, all of Du Quoin. Also surviving are four nieces and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers- Benjamin Franklin and Glen Franklin.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at the Gospel Assembly Church in Du Quoin with Bro. Gaylen Holden and Bro. Dennis Fitzsimmons officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church on Tuesday.

Burial will be in the Fair View Cemetery at Murphysboro.

Friends may make memorials to the Gospel Assembly Church in Du Quoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
