Eldorado Rotary shelter under construction
ELDORADO -- A new community shelter is coming to Eldorado, thanks to efforts by Eldorado Rotary.
The shelter is being constructed by Hometown Home Repair, owned by Michael Reynolds, and is being funded by Eldorado Rotary and a grant from Rotary International.
The shelter, a 16x16-foot structure, is located immediately south of the tennis court on Illinois Avenue, between Eldorado High School and Eldorado Grade School.
Reynolds' crew took advantage of sunny, dry weather Tuesday and by the afternoon was attaching metal roofing to the structure. Eldorado Rotary members Jill Fowler and Jeff Kotner, along with Rotary President Caleigh Bruce stopped by to lend a hand to Reynolds and crew members Chad Haney and Cody Bennett for a few minutes.
Bruce said she and other Rotary members hope the shelter will be a popular fixture.
"We think this is something that is useful to the Eldorado community, and we're excited to be able to provide it," she said.
