Eleanor H. Heck
Eleanor H. Heck, 93, of Du Bois, passed away at 1:45 A.M., Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the Friendship Manor in Nashville, IL.
Eleanor had been a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois. She was also a member of St. Theresa Altar Sodality, Catholic Daughters of the Americas Du Bois Chapter, Washington County, Illinois Democratic Club and AARP Du Bois Chapter.
She was born September 10, 1922 at Rend City, IL, the daughter of Stefan and Hattie (Pelczynski) Wojtowicz.
She married William P. Heck on May 22, 1944 at Avon Park, FL, and he preceded her in death on April 17, 1999.
She is survived by one daughter - Michalene Artz and husband Donald P. of St. Louis, MO, three grandchildren - Amy Wrather and husband Brian of Eureka, MO, Todd Artz and wife Marla of St. Peters, MO, and Aaron Artz and wife Stephanie of Imperial, MO, seven great grandchildren - Adam Wrather, Kyle Wrather, Sophia Artz, Caleb Artz, Lydia Artz, Gabriel Artz, and Liam Artz, two sisters - Theresa Cole and Marie Freeman, both of Waltonville, IL, one brother - Joseph Wojtowicz of Breeze, IL, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son - William Joseph Heck, two brothers - Frank Wojtowicz and Raymond Wojtowicz, and one sister - Margie Greer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois with Fr. Oliver Nwachukwu officiating.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 P.M., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Burial will be in the St. Charles Cemetery at Du Bois.
Friends may make memorials to American Lung Association or St. Charles Catholic Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
