Kenneth Loren Zettler of Tamaroa
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Kenneth Loren Zettler, 81, of Tamaroa passed away at 8:15 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2017, at Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.<br /> Kenneth had been a farmer and coal miner, last working at the Orient No. 6 mine. He was a member of the Nine Mile Baptist Church at Tamaroa. Kenneth was a U.S. Army veteran.<br /> He was born Oct. 1, 1935, in Tamaroa, the son of Joseph and Edith (Harris) Zettler.<br /> Kenneth married Loas M. Slover Jan. 4, 1958, in Du Quoin, and she survives.<br /> He is survived by his wife of Tamaroa; daughter Mary Zelasko and husband Robert of Tamaroa; daughter-in-law Lorna Zettler of Tamaroa; grandchildren Casey Zettler of Carbondale, Ben Zelasko and wife Cassandra of Tamaroa, and Amanda Zelasko Morris and husband Perry of Smithville, Mo.; two great-grandchildren, Gavin Zelasko and Ida Morris; two sisters, Deloris Slover and husband George of Tamaroa and Janet Bawcom and husband Dwight of Austin, Texas; four brothers, Lawrence Zettler of Kenosha, Wis., Jerry Zettler and wife Janet of Tamaroa, Larry Zettler of Du Quoin, and Richard Zettler and wife Eileen of Tamaroa; and neices and nephews.<br /> He was preceded in death by his parents; son Kenny Joe Zettler; and two brothers, Robert Zettler and Dale Zettler.<br /> <span class="contextualExtensionHighlight ms-font-color-themePrimary ms-border-color-themePrimary ident_1220_1350" tabindex="0">Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with the Rev. Noah Schlag officiating.</span><br /> <span class="contextualExtensionHighlight ms-font-color-themePrimary ms-border-color-themePrimary ident_1351_1448" tabindex="0">Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.</span><br /> Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery in Tamaroa.<br /> Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion posts and the U.S. Army.<br /> Friends may make memorials to Antioch Cemetery.
