Mary Louisa Huite Borecky
Mary Louisa Huite Borecky, 85, of Foley, Ala. passed away at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 at the Golden Living Nursing Home in Foley, Ala. after a lengthy three-year illness.
Mary was a homemaker and had also worked along with her first husband in the operation of Huite's Grocery in St. Johns; at Fairview Bowling Lanes and Mifflin's Clothing. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was born Jan. 11, 1928, in Du Quoin, Ill, the daughter of Jesse and Willie (Knight) Elder. She married Harry W. Huite, in May of 1949 and he preceded her in death in 1968. She then married John Borecky in 1969 and he preceded her in death in 1982.
She is survived by her two sons, Edgar Huite and wife Grace of Foley, Ala. and Jeffery Huite and wife Kay, of Ashland, Wis. She is also survived by step-sons, Harry Wayne Huite and wife Patricia of Du Quoin, Robert Charles Huite and wife Judith of Aurora, Ill. and John Borecky Jr. and wife June of Du Quoin. She is also survived by grandchildren, Aimee Huite Devole and husband Cary of Foley, Ala., Kreg V. Huite and wife Teresa of Foley, Ala., Steele D. Huite and wife Bridgette of Houlton, Me., Shiloh C. Huite and wife Samantha of Ashland, Wis. and Skylar G. Huite, Ashland, Wis. She is also survived by her two great-grandchildren, Makayla B. Huite and Orrie R. Huite, both of Foley, Ala.
She is also survived by her siblings: Florence Saylor of Du Quoin, Richard Elder of Marion, Helen Popover of Crown Point, Ind., Max Elder of DeKalb, Ill. and Edith Robinson of Bradenton, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband and second husband, three brothers: Lonnie Elder, Jessie Elder and George Elder and four sisters: Ruby Galbraith, Elizabeth Brandenburg, Leora Lominski and Irene Elder. She was also preceded in death by a step-daughter, Carolyn S. Lamczik, of Du Quoin.
She is also survived by many step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
