Gregory Allen Clark
Gregory Allen Clark, 44, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014 at his residence.
Greg had worked as a production worker at General Tire Company in Mount Vernon. He was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin and was a member of the Roe's Dale Baptist Church in Pinckneyville. Greg was a member of ABATE of Illinois. Greg had a full, happy childhood. His best buddy was his late brother, Darren. Together they were involved with the family's horses, three wheeling, baseball, hunting, fishing and swimming. Greg had a deep love of his family. The family so enjoyed his wit, humor and the love he so freely gave to them. Greg graduated from Du Quoin High School and John A. Logan College. He loved baseball and was an excellent pitcher for the Du Quoin Indians. Greg also enjoyed playing golf.
He was born Nov. 29, 1970 at Du Quoin, Ill., the son of William and Teresa (Smith) Clark.
He is survived by one daughter - Mariah Clark of Pinckneyville, one son - Jayden Clark of Pinckneyville, his mother - Teresa Zoller of Du Quoin, one uncle - Charles Smith of Du Quoin, two aunts - Barbara Cavins of Kankakee, Ill. and Loretta Barrett and husband Don of Du Quoin. Several cousins also mourn his passing. Greg's dear lifetime friend - Roger Fisher is also left to mourn his passing along with his sister - Jeannie. This brother and sister united in helping Greg through his illness and gave much love, help and support to Greg's mother and family.
He was preceded in death by his father, his dear brother - Darren L. Clark, his maternal grandparents - Mr. and Mrs. D. R. 'Poodle' Smith and his paternal grandparents - Mr. and Mrs. Henry Clark.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014 at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin with Rev. Charles Smith officiating.
Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to Du Quoin Eagles Children's Christmas Party and will be accepted at the funeral home.
