Du Quoin Education Association to award annual $500 scholarship for the 18th time

The Du Quoin Education Association is awarding a $500 scholarship for the 18th time in the spring of 2014. The funds were raised from contributions by Du Quoin Education Association members, District 300 teachers. Previous winners were Amy Summers, Erica Schwengel, Jennifer Woodsides, Angela Ritter, Elisabeth Logan, Melissa Mannino, Tim Craft, Amanda Heape, Bonnie Martie, Pamela Beard, Kim Uhe, Andrea Hawkins, Rachel Swallers, Sarah Brock, Holly Coleman, Deann Dement, Jessica Valier, Kelsey Wanack, Andrea Dimitroff, and Nicholas Baskin.

The requirements are: graduate of Du Quoin High School or son/daughter of a DEA member, accepted into a College of Education program, and attained junior standing in college. Priority will be given to a son/daughter of a DEA member.

The deadline for this year's application packet is May 12, 2014.
