Chester firefighters respond to brush fire

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Chester firefighters were called out to the intersection of County Road 5 and Viewvalley Road near Rockwood on April 8 on the report of a brush fire that had gotten out of control.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">According to Chester Fire Chief Marty Bert, the property owner, Troy Clendenin, was burning a brush pile and embers flew into the treeline of a neighboring property, setting the woods on fire.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Bert noted about an acre and a half was burned. The fire was reported at 1:07 p.m., with firefighters back in service about an hour and a half later.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Ellis Grove firefighters provided station coverage while Chester worked the call.</span>
