Gaye Irene McClanahan

Gaye Irene McClanahan, 74, of Tamaroa, passed away at 10:05 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013 at her residence.

Gaye had been a homemaker and had worked at BICC Cable and Fairview Nursing Center.

She was born May 3, 1939 at Du Quoin, Ill., the daughter of James Wesley and Delcie Marceline (Little) Wright.

She married Joseph B. McClanahan on June 27, 1986 at Elkville, Ill., and he survives.

She is survived by her husband of Tamaroa, her children - Yvonne Nash and husband Keith of Holcomb, Mo., James E. Sizemore of Tamaroa, Rodney Sizemore and wife Vickie of Du Quoin, Paul D. Sizemore and wife Miriam of China Grove, N.C., Donnie Huddleston and wife Nicole of Paducah, Ky. and Pete Huddleston and wife Kelly of Pittsburgh, Ill., her mother - Delcie Wright of Ina, Ill., step children - Kim Pike and husband Clay of West Frankfort and Melody McClanahan of West Frankfort, one brother - Wesley Wright and wife Judy of Ina, Ill., two sisters - Jean Bell of Ina, Ill. and Edie Edwards and husband Bob of Bethalto, Ill., brothers-in-law - Raymond McClanahan and wife Linda of Du Quoin, Terry McClanahan and wife June of Elkville, Steven McClanahan of Du Quoin and Tim McClanahan of Du Quoin, sisters-in-law - Glenna Harrison and husband Roger of Du Quoin and Linda Stewart and husband Tom of Robinson, Ill., 18 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, one sister, one grandson and one great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Pastor Joseph Pike officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
