Woman gets 5 years for stealing from Dillards

MARION - Latonya N. Jackson, 36, of St. Louis, has been sentenced to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for an April 2015 retail theft from Dillard's in Marion.

On Jan. 23, 2017, Jackson pleaded guilty in Williamson County to retail theft of merchandise over $300, a Class 3 felony. When apprehended, it was discovered that Jackson had stolen more than $7,000 in products from the store. Jackson had prior felony convictions related to theft.

"We are pleased with the judge's ruling on this matter, especially because the defense asked for probation," said Williamson County State's Attorney Brandon Zanotti.
