Carolyn Sue Morgan

Carolyn Sue Morgan, 72, of Du Quoin, passed away at 12:04 P.M., Sunday, June 28, 2015 at her residence.

Carolyn had been a CNA and had worked at Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin for twenty-two years. She was of the Protestant faith and attended Faith Assembly of God Church in Du Quoin.

She was born July 7, 1942 at Nashville, TN, the daughter of John Thomas and Sue Miller (Fowler) Spurlock.

She is survived by five children - Glenda (Purvins) Vassen and husband Joseph of Shiloh, IL, Gonnie Morgan and wife Michelle of Vandalia, IL, Karen Williams and fiancÈ James Kowzan of Du Quoin, Kim Morgan and fiancÈ Jennifer Allard of Tilden, IL, and Carmen (Jacoby) Hutchcraft and fiancÈ Preston House of West Frankfort, IL, grandchildren - Dalton Morgan of Du Quoin, Abigail Oulvey of Shiloh, IL, Brandon Williams of Du Quoin, Sarah Morgan of Burr Oak, MI, Gracelyn Morgan of Burr Oak, MI, Trevor Ruby and wife Alex of Texas, Tyler Ruby of Atlanta, GA, Grant Allard of Tilden, IL, Camden Allard of Tilden, IL, Kannon Kowzan of Pinckneyville, Olivia Hutchcraft and Sophia Hutchcraft, both of West Frankfort, IL, one great grandchild - Brant Bower of Burr Oak, MI, three sisters - Dorothy Ridgeway and husband Charles of Du Quoin, Sheila James and husband Allen of Du Quoin and Sondra Struck and husband Bobby of Pawleys, SC, sister-in-law - Joann Spurlock and friend Gary D. Morgan of Du Quoin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two children in infancy - Baby Boy Purvins and Faye Morgan, one grandson - Joshua Heumann and one brother - Bobby Spurlock.

Memorial services will be at 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the Faith Assembly of God Church, 539 N. Maple St. in Du Quoin.

Friends may call from 5 P.M. until the time of service on Tuesday at the Faith Assembly of God Church.

There will be a social gathering following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorials to the Faith Assembly of God Weekend Warrior Program or Marshall Browning Hospital Tree of Life and will be accepted at the funeral home.
