Indians blanked by Nashville

DU QUOIN - Nashville standout Jacob Woodrome pitched a complete-game shutout as the Hornets blanked Du Quoin, 9-0, Tuesday in an SIRR Mississippi Division contest.

Woodrome, who threw 91 pitches, gave up five hits and those came to two players.

Du Quoin's Ashton Smith was 3-for-3 and Alex Zimmerman was 2-for-3 at the plate.

Cole Malawy had four hits and scored three runs, while Cameron Parker had three hits for the Hornets.

The Indians dropped to 7-4 overall and 2-2 in the conference with the loss.

Du Quoin was scheduled to host Z-R-C in another home game Wednesday, then travel to Carterville on Thursday before a short trip to Pinckneyville on Monday.
