Gertrude Evelyn Ferguson
Gertrude Evelyn Ferguson, 86, of Granite City, Ill., died at 4:50 a.m. Fri. Nov. 9, 2012 at Stearns Nursing and Rehab Center in Granite City.
She was born March 3, 1926, in Pinckneyville, Ill. to the late Kenneth and Gertrude (Linze) Meyer.
On Oct. 7, 1946, she and John E. Ferguson were married in Du Quoin, Ill. He preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1978.
Evelyn loved reading her Bible and had a strong faith and loved God. She was quite the storyteller and loved being around people and social activities.
Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Patrick Judd of Granite City; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Fred Paul and Susan Ferguson of Centralia and John Lowell Ferguson of Granite City; four grandchildren, Rebecca Diane Judd, Benjamin Andrew (Ashley) Judd, Cristy Ann (Touche) Little and John Paul Ferguson; five great-grandchildren, Ellison Diane Judd, Destiny Little, Tyler Ferguson, Jaydon Little and Trayton Little; two sisters, Marilyn (Merrill) Queen of New Athens, Ill., Donna Boswell of Dothan, Ala.; two brothers, Gene (Glenda) Meyer of Chico, Calif. and Larry (Terri) Meyer of Las Vegas, Nev. and a very close brother-in-law, Homer Ray of Orange City, Fla.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by: two sisters and a brother-in-law, Bernadine Marie Ray and Shirley and Dave Shaw and two brothers, Kenneth and Lowell Meyer.
Visitation was held from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at 3:00 p.m. Mon. Nov. 12, 2012 at Wojstrom Funeral Home and Crematory with Roger Bryant officiating. Private burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin, Ill.
