Dale Edward Shurtz

Dale Edward "Bo" Shurtz, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015.

He was the beloved husband of June E. Shurtz (nee Smith) and loving foster father of the late John Marty Wright, loving foster grandfather of Jennifer and Dale, loving brother of Marietta Axley, Jane Bell, Floy Ann ( Dennis) Borgman and the late Marion Ray Shurtz and John David Shurtz, loving brother-in-law of Ronald (Ann) Smith, Nancy (Bob) Patterson and Diane (Tom) Knarr, dear uncle, great uncle, great great uncle, cousin and dear friend.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 4, 10:30 a.m. at Hutchens Mortuary, 675 Graham Rd. Florissant. Interment will be in National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Visitation is Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Shurtz served in the Army in the 1st Division post World War II Germany, and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He was also in the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper. He was awarded the Army Occupational Medal in Germany, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, United Nations Service Medal and Combat Infantry Badge.

Mr. Shurtz was a member of the Florissant American Legion and a member of the Lindsay Lane Baptist Church.
