Mary Louise McRoy
Mary Louise McRoy, 87, of Du Quoin, passed away at 2:00 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2015 at the Fairview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Du Quoin.
Mary had been a homemaker. She had worked at P.R. Mallory and as a seamstress at Country Set and Bridal Originals. She was a member of the Spirit of Life Christian Church in Du Quoin. Mary was also a member of the Illinois Garment Workers Union.
She was born June 25, 1927 at Du Quoin, Ill., the daughter of William and Louise (Poe) Causer.
She married Lester James McRoy on June 25, 1945 at Du Quoin, Ill. and he preceded her in death on April 29, 2005.
She is survived by two daughters - Sherry Crone and husband Tom of Vernon Hills, Ill. and Penny Edie and husband Leonard of Pinckneyville, one son - Michael McRoy and wife Pat of Du Quoin, one sister - Betty Wright of Sunfield, two brothers - William Causer and wife Pat of Mount Vernon, Ill. and Tom Causer and wife Terry of Jacksonville, Fla., eight grandchildren - Stacha Crone of Florida, Tom Crone II and wife Dana of Volo, Ill., Henry Crone and wife Kelly of St. Louis, Mo., Eric McRoy of Du Quoin, Andrew Edie and wife Christina of Du Quoin, Meredith Edie of Pinckneyville, Christopher McRoy and fiancee Lisa Jophlin of Du Quoin and Angela Kissell and husband Cameron of California and nine great grandchildren - Tyler McRoy, Michael Shane McRoy, Jake Crone, Olivia Crone, Chloe Crone, Braden Jones, Austin Edie, Evelyn Kissell and Cameron Kissell Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A private family graveside service was held at Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin with Rev. Gerald Wright officiating.
Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to Celtic Hospice or Spirit of Life Christian Church or Fairview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center and will be accepted at the funeral home.
