Obituary for Evelyn Holcomb

<span>EVELYN MARIE HOLCOMB, 86, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 6:15 a.m., Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Randolph County Care Center, Sparta, Illinois.</span>

<span>She was born to the late John and Flora (nee Bierman) Schulze on September 25, 1928 in Chester, Illinois.</span>

<span>Evelyn married Ralph R. Holcomb on June 7, 1947 at Wine Hill, Illinois; he preceded her in death on February 2, 2005.</span>

<span>She had work for the International Shoe Factory Chester, Illinois for 25 years and retired from Dorma, Steeleville after 25 years.</span>

<span>Evelyn was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois. She was also a member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in Chester.</span>

<span>She was an avid quilter. She loved to sew and play bingo and pinnacle. She enjoyed mowing grass and cooking.</span>

<span>Survivors include three children Myra Rubach (Fiancé Robert Biggs), Chester, IL, Marsha Chandler, Steeleville, IL, Lori Holcomb Chester, IL; one brother</span><span>Dwain (Joretta) Schulze</span><span>N. Pekin, IL; one sister Janet Castellano, Chester, IL; four grandchildren Keith (Kay) Rubach, Chester, IL, Trisha (Chad) Parrish, Jackson, MO, Amanda (Ben) Miers, Ellis Grove, IL, Ryan (Shilouh) Chandler, Chester, IL; eleven great-grandchildren Andrew, Brooke, Makayla, Matthew, Jillian, Braeden, Madison, Avery, Aubrey, Morgan and Trintyn, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.</span>

<span>Preceded in death by parents and husband - Ralph Holcomb.</span>

<span>Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church, Chester, Illinois with the Rev. Timothy Landskroener officiating.</span>

<span>Interment at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, Illinois.</span>

<span>Memorials can be made to St. John Debt Fund, St. John New School Fund or Hospice of Southern Illinois.</span>
