Southern Illinois Women's Teen Conference

The 17th Southern Illinois Women's Teen Conference for girls in grades 7-12 will take place on <span class="Object" id="OBJ_PREFIX_DWT254">February 26</span>, 2011 at John A. Logan College in Carterville, Illinois. The day begins with registration at 8 a.m., exhibits and limited screenings from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m.
The Morning Keynote Speaker is Christy Solverson. She'll discuss "Living Your Colors," a personality assessment to help teens realize how their personalities interact with others and where their strengths lie. Two Breakout Sessions follow the morning keynote. Breakout Session topics include self defense, anxiety and how to overcome it, Zumba, make-up techniques, nutrition, and more.
Christina King is the Afternoon Keynote Speaker and her topic is "Embrace Your Greatness!" Ms. King's story is one of tragedy to triumph. From being raised through all forms of abuse to her own teen pregnancy, she knows what it is like to be deeply wounded. She transformed her life. Ms. King will share her story and offer hope for all women. Ms. King is the mother of eight children, from newborn to college student. She has been speaking to teens since 1996 and she has helped thousands of teens take control of their lives - physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Ms. King will offer strategies for becoming happier and healthier and living up to your potential and greatness.
The $20 registration fee includes a conference bag with giveaways, lunch, and door prizes. Pre-registration is required.
