New nurse practitioner at Du Quoin REA Clinic; Funding closer for new facility on Rt. 51 south

The REA medical clinic in Du Quoin has a new nurse practitioner on staff and is getting closer to funding on a new rural health center on Rt. 51 south of Du Quoin.

Comptroller Linda Quillman says, "We now have a new nurse practitioner in place at REA Clinic-Du Quoin to work with Dr. Rathert & PA, Michael Poiter. Her name is Andrea Epplin.

"I have a lunch scheduled this Friday for she and Dr. Rathert to meet with Susan Engelhardt and members of Perry Co. Counseling to discuss coordination of care for mutual patients.

"I've also got information on the grant that has finally been released for us to apply for to assist us with funding for the new building."

Each of these events will have their own stories in the coming days.
