It's strawberry-picking time in Campbell Hill
The strawberries on the Miller family farm near Campbell Hill are ripe for picking and yes, you are welcome to come fill gallon pails of them. Or, you can buy them pre-picked, at the farm grocery. John Miller said calls are coming in from people eager to know if customers will be allowed in to pick strawberries in this, the farm's 12th season. The answer is yes and the time is now -- the first two weeks of May are the best picking time.

10th annual Burg Comics Con set for Saturday in Harrisburg
HARRISBURG -- The 10th annual Burg Comics Con will return Saturday at the Bonan Business Center in Harrisburg. The family-friendly event is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and features a packed house of vendors, gaming, cosplay, and of course all things comics, including comic book writers and illustrators. There also is a silent auction that runs from 10 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

SI Sportsman Show still attracts regional interest
The fourth annual Southern Illinois Sportsman Show, held this past weekend at the Exhibition Hall on the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds, was again an immense success, drawing hundreds to the event over the two-day show.
