Join Chester library via Zoom for history talk on CCC in southern Illinois

The public is invited to join the Chester Public Library via Zoom for a free area history program at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, when Kay Rippelmeyer will discuss the Civilian Conservation Corps in southern Illinois.

Rippelmeyer is a southern Illinois native and author of the book, "The Civilian Conservation Corps of Southern Illinois." Her presentation for the Chester Public Library will feature the history of the C.C.C. and their work in Randolph County in the 1930s and early 40s.

"This will be the library's first attempt at a live online presentation," said Administrative Librarian Tammy Grah. "Your patience and understanding as we learn together is greatly appreciated."

Grah said that if their technology cooperates, they will be able to share a recording of the program in the days following the event.

To participate live, register at www.chesterpubliclibrary.com/events. Participants will be emailed the meeting ID and password needed to take part.
