A search warrant executed at a Herrin home on May 31 resulted in the arrest of a 49-year-old man on drugs and weapons charges.
Leonard Falcone, age 49, address unknown, was charged with unlawful delivery of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of heroin and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, according to a news release issued by the Southern Illinois Enforcement Group.
It said Falcone also had an active arrest warrant out of Jefferson County on a charge of unlawful delivery of methamphetamine.
Falcone was taken to the Williamson County Jail. Involved in the arrest were the Southern Illinois Enforcement Group, Williamson County Sheriff's Office "Special Response Team" and the Herrin Police Department. The search was executed at a home on "B" Lane in Herrin.
The Southern Illinois Enforcement Group is a multijurisdictional unit comprised of agents from the Illinois State Police, Herrin Police Department and Williamson County Sheriff's Office. Contributing members of the Southern Illinois Enforcement Group are the Cambria Police Department, Carterville Police Department, Crainville Police Department, Creal Springs Police Department, Energy Police Department, Johnston City Police Department and Pittsburg Police Department.
