Kale Rister guest of Harrisburg Kiwanis

HARRISBURG - At the Harrisburg Kiwanis weekly meeting on April 10, Kale Rister, a senior at Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School, entertained the Kiwanis members with an original comedy speech he wrote.

He portrayed a narrator telling his life story. Everyone truly enjoyed the performance.

After the conclusion of his presentation, Rister gave a brief overview of his career plans and answered questions. He plans to attend Southeastern Illinois College on a scholarship for speech and theater. Because SIC has such a great reputation of excellence in forensics and theater, he indicated he is very excited to become of part of the program.

The SIC team routinely competes in competitions with other community colleges, as well as four-year universities. Rister plans to continue his education with performance studies and English at a four year university. He said his goal is to become a teacher and perhaps, go into the entertainment field at some point. He enjoys what he does and will assist with the Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School program in the fall while attending SIC.
