Through private donations, The Laborer's Care (TLC) charity raised $50,000 to donate to the Carbondale Warming Center. Because of the donation, the warming center will be funded through the end of February.

"This donation is to help fund the Warming Center through the winter months and also to help ensure they can assist the most vulnerable in our communities deal with the COVID-19 crisis," said Jerry Womick, business manager for Laborers' Local 773.

Womick joined Bill Orrill, president of TLC, and Carmalita Cahill, the Warming Center's executive director, for a check presentation Thursday.
