Panthers demolish Sparta, 61-18

A slow start for both teams - the game was scoreless at the mask timeout at 4:00 - only delayed the Panthers' eventual dominance on their home floor Friday night.

Once Ben Restoff scored the first bucket at 3:50, on his way to 13 points for the game, Pinckneyville played with precision to a 61-18 win over Sparta.

By halftime, the Cats had bested the Bulldogs by 23-5, and a 20-4 third quarter meant a running clock for the 4th quarter, when Sparta finally broke into double digits and doubled their score of the first three quarters.

Strong in the paint for the Panthers, Dré Scott led Pinckneyville with 16 points. Restoff had 13 and Derek Rohlfing chipped in 7 off the bench in the 4th quarter, joining eight other Panthers in the scoring column.
