Virginia Williams of Harrisburg

Virginia Williams, 100, of Harrisburg, died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019 at the Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehab Center.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019 at Macedonia Baptist Church near Mitchellsville. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday.

The Rev. David Swain and Rev. James Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery.

Virginia was born on Oct. 24, 1919 in Parma, Missouri to the late Rev. Harry E. and Susie (Vandine) Hancock. She married James Edgar Williams on Dec. 5, 1936 and he preceded her in death on July 25, 1976.

Virginia was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Mitchellsville and was a very active member.

Virginia is survived by four children, the Rev. James (Margaret) Williams of Harrisburg, Ramona Hilliard of Harrisburg, Mary (Jim) Patterson of Harrisburg and Dan (Shirley) Williams of Creal Springs; a sister, Nita Reynolds of Florida; eight grandchildren, Jim, Connie, Sharon, Robert, Lisa, Valerie, Daniel Scott and Jim; seven great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband James Edgar Williams; her brother, Earl Hancock; two sisters, Dortha Davis and Betty Reynolds; and a grandchild, Jackie Hilliard.
