Floyd Wilson, age 90, of Harrisburg, passed away at 10:10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, 2019 at his residence.

Floyd was born on Nov. 22, 1929, in Glenwood, Illinois, to the late Clyde and Kathryn (Kennedy) Wilson. On Sept. 17, 1955 he married JoAnn Barnes and she preceded him in death on June 6, 2007.

He was formerly the superintendent of public works for the City of Oak Brook, Illinois.

Floyd was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Marion, Illinois and he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Floyd served on the Honor Guard for many years, honoring those who have service in the Armed Forces.

Floyd was a member of Harrisburg American Legion Post #167, and Harrisburg V.F.W. post #2878. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved to fish, woodwork and do yard work.

Floyd is survived by three children, son, Michael Wilson of Danville, California; daughter, Carol (Tony) Bell of Kissimmee, Florida and daughter, Dawn Wilson of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Nicolas Wilson of Danville, California; Christopher Wilson of Illinois and Bridgette Wilson of Illinois; a sister, Eileen Napoli of Minocqua, Wisconsin, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, JoAnn, and his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Ann Wilson in infancy; brothers, Clyde Edward Wilson, William Arthur Wilson and Frank James Wilson; and a sister, Vivian Brandon.

Graveside services will begin at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25, 2019 at Skyline Memorial Park in Monee, Illinois. Pastor Kim Lee Brown will officiate.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Harrisburg American Legion and envelopes will be available at the funeral home and cemetery.
