Wilma Bruce Sanders of Johnston City

Wilma Bruce Sanders, 93, passed away at 6:25 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, 2019 in Herrin Hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019, at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Larry Stevens officiating. Burial will be held in the Lakeview Cemetery of Johnston City.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Wilma was born on Jan. 5, 1926 in Marion, the daughter of Monroe and Iva (Dixon) Wiseman. She married William Paul Bruce on June 6, 1942 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 24, 1978. She then married Earl Sanders who also preceded her in death.

Wilma was a seamstress and a homemaker.

She is survived by a daughter, Shirley (Steve) Canaday of Marion; grandchildren, Paula (Mark) Canaday-Daeke of Georgia, Jerry (Danielle) Canaday of Missouri, Jason Bruce of Creal Springs, Misti (Jim) Carroll of Thompsonville, daughters-in-law, Linda Bruce and "Beanie" Bruce; great-grandchildren Zachary, Mason, Tyler, Stephanie and Jamie; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Linda Lou Bruce; sons, Jerry and Ray Bruce; and brothers and sisters, James, Lloyd, Larry, Dorothy, Margaret Ann, Lester, Bob and Freda.
