Ina Riden of Harrisburg

Ina Riden, 88, of Harrisburg, passed away on Monday, Sept. 14, 2020 at Saline Care & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on Jan. 31, 1932 in Hardin County to the late Alfred and Eula (Miles) Lane.

She was a Baptist by faith and when her health was good she attended the First General Baptist Church in Harrisburg. She loved singing in church with her husband, Wiley, and also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She loved her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen Davis of Harrisburg and Joan (Matthew) Hancock of Burgaw, North Carolina; a son Michael (Mindi) Riden of Harrisburg; 12 grandchildren, Shauna Riden of Ardmore, Alabama, Vanessa (Alam) Starling of Harvest, Alabama, Brian (Robyn) Davis of Herrin, Dustin (Tiffany) Kielhorn of Harrisburg, Devin (Josh) Beck of Jackson, Tennessee, Joshua Abbott of St. Louis, Britton and Abbie Riden of Harrisburg, Jacob Reimer of Newburgh, Indiana, Joseph (Becca) Hancock of Rocky Point, North, Carolina, Penny Hancock of Wilmington, North Carolina and Dana (Hancock) Sirmons of Swannanoa, North Carolina. She also is survived by 15 great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Caleb Sirmons, Taylor and Tyler Riden, Liam and Madylyne Beck, Walker and Triton Kielhorn, Kyle and Parker Hancock, Trent and Alex Edens, Braden Davis, and Charleigh and Sosy Starling; and one great-great-grandchild, Sawyer Hancock.

In addition, she is survived by two sisters, Virginia (Jerry) Mosby and Linda (Carrroll) Berlin, and one brother, Herschel (Mary) Lane.

She was preceded in death by Wiley, her husband of 50 years; her oldest son, Wiley Riden Jr.; and two of her daughters, Debbie (Riden) Wilson, and Kathy (Riden) Reimer.

In addition, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Luther Lane, Kenneth Lane, Donald Lane, Randall Lane, Charles Lane and James Lane; and two sisters, Eva Mae Lane and Nina (Lane) Mathews.

Ina quit school when she was a junior in high school to get married. At the age of 29, with her husband and four small children at home, Ina attended Harrisburg High School to graduate and receive her diploma. She finished the rest of her junior and senior year.

Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, 2020 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Burial will be at Hill Cemetery.
